Each doll design starts out as an idea and from this idea we follow a series of steps to make a beautiful finished doll.

Ross Adams draws beautiful sketches incorporating pencil, charcoal and watercolours. Many of the designs do not make it past this step and sometimes Ross ends up doing several different sketches for one design. Once we have a sketch that everyone is happy with we move on to the next step.
Once the sketch is finished we must then get a sculpt made of the head, hands and feet. The sculpts are done by several different artists depending on the look we want. This sculpt of St. Nicholas was done by Ross Adams in Clay.
When the sculpts are perfected we get a resin cast made for each part. These casts are put on blocks and are now ready to be carved out of wood.
